Jay Acunzo's Whiskey Smash

Add the following into a shaker, or over some crushed ice:

Half a lemon, freshly squeezed

1 tbsp simple syrup (or syrup to taste, if you like sweet drinks)

1 shot of bourbon or your whiskey of choice (or 2 shots, if you'd like a deep conversation with yourself this evening)

Mint can make a nice addition, if you have it.

If you used a shaker instead of crushed ice to start, now obey its name. Then pour into a glass, which is just a temporary resting spot between the shaker and your mouth. (Who are we kidding? You're in quarantine. Skip the glass, cut down on dirty dish, and just use the shaker as your glass. Enjoy, and be well!)

Pour yourself a cocktail and enjoy the conversation...
