Ask More: The Power of Questions to Open Doors, Uncover Solutions, and Spark Change by Frank Sesno

Frank Sesno is a former CNN anchor, White House correspondent, and Washington bureau chief, and is now director of the School of Media and Public Affairs at the George Washington University. He has interviewed leaders from around the world, including five US presidents, and is the creator of Planet Forward, a a web-to-television show on PBS that seeks solutions to some of the world’s toughest challenges.

And, interesting fact, Frank Sesno appeared as a news anchor on “House of Cards” in the eighth episode of the fourth season

The Host’s Perspective:

One of the keys to success in the business world is asking questions. But the trick is knowing which type of question and when to ask it.

Have you ever heard the expression in sales to “educate with questions”?

If you do it correctly, it’s very effective.

But the author of “Ask More” explains that most of us don’t really understand how questions work – or how to make them work for us. We study lots of different topics in school, but never do we study how to ask questions strategically, how to listen actively, or how to use questions as a powerful tool toward accomplishing what we really want to achieve.

So who better to write a book about questions than someone who has been done it for a living?

Frank Sesno is a former CNN anchor, White House correspondent, and Washington bureau chief. He has interviewed world leaders, including five U.S. presidents.

From questions that cement relationships, to those that help you plan for the future, each chapter in Ask More explores a different type of inquiry.

The books walks you through the 12 different types of questions, how to ask them, how NOT to ask them, and when best to ask each type of question.

By the end of the book, you’ll know what to ask and when, what you should listen for, and what you can expect as the outcome.
