The Host’s Perspective:

Remember the good old days of marketing? Years ago when you could hit your blog’s publish button and the search engines would scoop it up and deliver to the first page of a search engine and generate lots of traffic, leads and sales for you? Those days of “build and they will come” are long gone.

Now we’re living in a world of “Content Shock” where there is so much content that most industries have reached a very high “Content Saturation Index.” But if you have really good content you still don’t need to worry about all that mediocre content out there on the Internet, right?

Wrong.

In this book you’ll learn a dirty little secret about content marketing: It’s not just about quality. Without planned promotion of your content, you’re almost guaranteed to have lackluster results.

So what’s a content marketer have to do now? You have to promote your content through paid, earned and owned media. The Content Promotion Manifesto walks you through the facts and figures of why content promotion is now a requirement, how to plan and implement it and how to budget for it. If you’re a marketer who is now being held accountable for the results of your content, you’re going to want to read this book.
