The Marketing Book Podcast: "The Conversion Code" by Chris Smith

The Conversion Code: Capture Internet Leads, Create Quality Appointments, Close More Sales by Chris Smith

Chris Smith is the co-founder of Curaytor, a social media, digital marketing and sales coaching company that helps businesses grow faster.

In less than three years, he used the blueprint from the book [we’re about to discuss], The Conversion Code, to grow Curaytor to over $5 million in annual, recurring revenue.

He is also the co-host of the WaterCooler, a weekly podcast focusing on business, marketing, technology and real estate.

Prior to Curaytor, Chris worked for two billionaires, a near billion dollar publicly traded company and a startup that was acquired for $108 million.

He speaks live in front of more than 50,000 people a year.

The Host's Perspective:

There are books about generating leads online. And there are books about modern sales in this era of the super informed buyer. But the Conversion Code ties both areas together in a way that I have not yet seen in one book – until now.

Perhaps not surprisingly, the author Chris Smith started out in “boiler room” sales jobs and later made the move to modern marketing and lead generation. Like a baseball switch-hitter who can bat left and right, he moves effortlessly between marketing and sales.

The modern buyer in the Internet era is savvy and they have more options than ever before. Capturing their attention and turning it into revenue requires a whole new approach to marketing and sales.

This book provides very clear instructions on where to find your prospects, how to engage them online with content like blogs, social media and apps, and how to position your company as the ideal solution to their needs.

But unlike the proverbial dog that doesn’t know what to do with the car they’ve been chasing once they’ve caught it, The Conversion Code then walks you through exactly how to engage directly with prospects, what to say and do, what not to say and do, and how to move them along a proven and efficient sales process that fills your sales pipeline and creates revenue.

The gulf between marketing and sales is narrowing. The Conversion Code shows you how to align the two previously discrete practices to seamlessly capture and convert internet leads and then close sales at the highest rate possible.
