On September 18, Artillery’s Douglas Burdett spoke at the American Marketing Association Birmingham luncheon as the keynote speaker for the September Signature Series. He addressed three key topics: marketers have a serious image problem, successful marketers having deep insights on who they are, and the most powerful tool in marketing is the customer experience.
Burdett provided advice aimed at helping his fellow marketers better themselves and their marketing practices. An emphasis on knowing your customer was continually discussed as he claimed it was those closest to the consumer who ultimately wins, as the customer experience is pivotal. Additionally, he shed light on marketers needing to maintain a balance of revenue gain and understanding the financial reality of the company.
